Problem

Botanic Gardens in Chicago needed accent lighting installed into the handrails of their bridge so tourists could safely enjoy the garden during the evening.  Prolume, a professional LED light fixture manufacturer, was contracted to provide the lighting and asked LEDdynamics to design the LED light engine.

Scope

The light needed to be:

  • Outdoor rated (IP67)
  • Slim design for mounting into handrail
  • Warm color temperature to blend with sunset
  • Enough lumens to safely walk without creating a distraction from surrounding beauty

Solution

Prolume had a slim IP67 rated fixture that would fit inside the handrail.  LEDdynamics specified a warm CCT mid-power LED and driver circuitry to  deliver around 245 lumens/ft.  The LED light engine provided to Prolume satisfied the design requirements from Botanic Gardens.
