Key Wavelengths for Photobiomodulation (PBM)
Specific wavelengths of light in the visible and near-infrared (NIR) spectrum are absorbed by chromophores in human tissue, such as cytochrome c oxidase, triggering photobiological responses. These interactions can enhance cellular energy production (ATP), modulate inflammation, improve circulation, and support tissue repair and overall health. Different wavelengths penetrate to different depths and target different biological pathways, enabling a wide range of therapeutic and wellness applications.
